Your Practitioner - Mark Palmer

 It was in 1996 while living in Mackay, Queensland that I was introduced to Bowen Therapy. After completing initial training in Bowtech, I returned to live in Cairns where I established my Bowen Therapy Practice. Soon after, I studied and gained my qualification in Kinesiology and operated my clinic until 2005. In 2006 I returned home to Christchurch and in 2008 I established Bowenz.
My dad was a doctor and even though I never saw myself becoming one, I have always had a keen interest in the human anatomy and how the brain works. As I grew up I spent lots of my time looking through my dads books in his study - all sorts of medical journals and a big collection of Edward De Bono books and psychotherapy and the like.
As well as an Advanced Practitioner in Bowtech Bowen Therapy, I have completed the folowing studies: Kinesiology Three in One Concepts, Touch for Health Kinesiology to level 4, The Emmett Technique, Rash Yoga Meditation Course, Tai Chi to Level 3 & the Light Hologram Technique: The Melchizedek Method.
At the core of my work is the amazingly simple and effective Bowen Technqiue. I encourage my clients to engage and build awareness of their movements to enhance each treatment and further assist them in their healing journey.
In 2001, I was introduced to the bio mechanical Martial Art of Choi Kwang Do. An amazing art based on scientific principles, Choi Kwang Do has been designed with Kinesiologists & Doctors to be friendly to the body and has helped me greatly in understanding better the bio mechanical functions of the body. I run the only affiliated school here in Christchurch – check out the website : www.choikwangdo.co.nz
